• Challenge: Dance is one of the
    least offered arts programs
    IN Chicago Public Schools
In over 80% of Illinois public schools,
dance instruction is not offered. Of the
public schools that offer dance programs,
less than 15% of Chicago public elementary
schools and high schools provide a dance
class as part of the day time curriculum.
Instead it is offered as an after school or
occasional program. Given cuts in physical
    education, and a well-documented childhood
obesity crisis, helping students engage in
    movement is even more important.

    schools together to educate STUDENTS
