Storycatchers Theatre

Storycatchers Theatre is a youth development arts organization that prepares young people to make positive life choices through the process of writing, producing and performing original musical theatre inspired by personal stories. The organization conducts multi-week programs with groups of youth who live in underserved urban neighborhoods or who are incarcerated in the juvenile justice system – where they have few opportunities to develop their gifts and talents.

Youth write individual stories, work collaboratively on a group story, adapt the story into a play and produce a play. In addition to developing artistic and academic skills, the primary goal is for youth to recognize their ability to make decisions about their lives and control of their choices.
