The Arie & Ida Crown Memorial (AICM) receives Letters of Intent (LOIs) twice each year corresponding to the Spring and Fall review cycles (Deadlines: January 31st, July 31st). LOIs are pre-screened by Foundation staff and further information or a full proposal may be requested. A number of criteria are used to assess prospective grantee organizations, including but not limited to: clarity of mission, programmatic focus and effectiveness, caliber of management/staff, financial health, board leadership and involvement, service population, and geographic focus. Particular consideration will be given to projects that promise demonstrable long-range benefits that include an evaluation plan, and have the potential to attract support from a broad base of philanthropic sources. Grantees receiving grants over $20K are required to submit a progress report at the end of the one-year grant cycle. However, all grantees are asked to notify the Foundation of any substantive organizational, programmatic, or personnel changes.

  • Government sponsored programs (where 50% or more of an organization’s budget is obtained from government contracts or initiatives) are ineligible for AICM support.
  • Grants are not made to support individuals, to underwrite conference expenses, or to fund film projects or exhibitions.
  • Grants are not made to organizations with budgets under $200,000.
  • AICM will only accept one request from an organization during a 12-month period.
  • Proposals from non-profit agencies are considered for programmatic, capital, and general operating needs.
  • While AICM provides significant support for selected Israeli agencies, unsolicited proposals from organizations outside of the United States, even those with affiliates in the United States, will not receive a response. Additionally, all Israeli applicants must have a funding recipient mechanism that meets the requirements of the United States Tax Code as an eligible 501(c)(3) charitable organization.
