Jewish Charitable  Enriching the Jewish Experience in the U.S.

Birthright Israel

Birthright Israel was established in 1999 to strengthen the Jewish identity of young adults. Birthright Israel provides Jewish young adults (18-26) with free 10-day trips to Israel. To engage participants in Judaism, the curriculum stresses informal education through experiences in Israel rather than classroom learning. With increasing demand, Birthright Israel has served more than 200,000 participants of whom 73% consider the trip “life-changing.” After their trip, participants are more likely to get involved with Jewish organizations, enroll in Jewish studies courses, express a desire to raise their children as Jews, return to visit Israel and engage in Jewish rituals.
