United States Holocaust Memorial Museum

The United States Holocaust Memorial Museum is America’s national institution for the documentation, study and interpretation of Holocaust history. It serves as the country’s living memorial that inspires people across the world to confront hatred, prevent genocide and promote human dignity. The Museum strives to broaden public understanding of the history of the Holocaust through multifaceted programs. These programs include exhibitions, research and publications, collection and preservation of art and artifacts, annual Holocaust commemorations known as Days of Remembrance, distribution of education materials and teacher resources and a variety of public other programs designed to enhance understanding of the Holocaust and related issues, including those of contemporary significance. Since its dedication in 1993, the Museum has seen more than 30 million visitors.
