Yad VaShem

Yad VaShem is a Jerusalem-based organization that is an international leader in the Holocaust field through recording and conveying the story of the Holocaust as well as memorializing the lives and experiences of Holocaust victims and survivors. Yad VaShem emphasizes educating the younger generations to nourish their interest in identity and history. The centerpiece of Yad Vashem’s campus is the Holocaust History Museum. There, Yad VaShem hosted approximately one million visitors from around the world in 2009. Of these visitors, more than half came from outside of Israel. Of those, approximately half were not Jewish.
